Sidney L. Crawford, 76, of Ozona, FL passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018. He was born in Glendale, CA, on July 11, 1942 to George L. Crawford and Margaret-Lowell Crawford. Sid is survived by his two sons, Allan L. Crawford (Cheryl) of Columbia, SC, and Robert B. Crawford of Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by his sister, Susan D. Makara of Ozona, FL, and six grandchildren.

Sid was a Captain in the U.S. Army where he served as a nuclear weapons specialist. After his service, he was a nuclear power and quality assurance engineer. He retired to Ozona, where he was an avid birder and involved in local bird counts and preservation efforts on Honeymoon and Caladesi Islands. Sid frequently took Audubon trips throughout the United States, as well as to locations in Thailand, Iceland, Israel, and Latin America. He enjoyed national trivia and was often referred to as 'the smartest man I know.'
