1. Seattle is knick-named the EMERALD city..
2. The frontier town of Seattle experienced a boom in 1897 as a
result of this: ALASKA GOLD RUSH
3. Seattle is famous as the home of this rock music movement. GRUNGE
4. The PIKE Place Market is one of Seattle's most popular tourist
attractions.
5. Horse-drawn carriages, pedicabs and souvenir shops dominate this
touristy area. WATERFRONT
6. Known to locals simply as "The Mountain," Mount RAINIER takes up
half of Seattle's skyline.

at a restored 1890's saloon.
5. Seattle was a key center for the AIRCRAFT industry in World War II.
6. Seafest, Seattle's biggest summer festival, began as a/an

7. You can enjoy all of these attractions at the Seattle Aquarium
