of LUZON .

2. The city originally called "Maynilad" was named after a PLANT .

3. Manila's INTRAMUROS district was once the original walled city.

4. When Manila was under Spanish rule it was called "The PEARL of
the Orient."

5. Manila's Tondo District is noted for its SHANTYTOWNS .

6. Manila is situated on Manila Bay which is linked by channel to
the SOUTH CHINA SEA .
