Passport Destination: Road Trip - Maine to Washington

Packing Round

1. Our road trip begins in Portland, Maine, the hometown of this
famous American poet. HENRY W. LONGFELLOW

2. New Hampshire's FRANCONIA Notch is said to be the most famous
mountain gap in the eastern U.S.

3 This capital city of Vermont is a center for the granite-quarrying
industry. MONTPELIER

4. Our first stop in New York state is for a picnic in this huge
upstate park. ADIRONDACK PARK

5. We leave the park to drive to Syracuse, then on to Buffalo, which
is linked to Canada by the PEACE BRIDGE .

6. From Buffalo we drive southwest to Cleveland, Ohio, home to all of
these things except SEARS TOWER .

1. While in Maine we dined in lobster which is lower in calories than
all of these except EGGS .

2. This northern Ohio city will host the CMJ/Rockhall Music Fest from

4 This lake that lies in both Vermont and New York was briefly the

1. In 1570, Chief Hiawatha selected Syracuse as the capital of the
IROQUIOS Confederacy.

2 We'll stop at the COLLEGE FOOTBALL Hall of Fame in Southbend,
Indiana, on our way to Chicago.

3. Des Plaines, IL, near Chicago, has the dubious distinction of
being the site of the very first MCDONALD`S .

5. "Camp Snoopy," at the Mall of America outside Minneapolis, is the
largest U.S. indoor THEME PARK .
